Welcome to Where the Wild things Grow!

I am Patricia Simpson, a photographer with over twenty years of experience and a proud member of the Professional Photographers Association. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and an Associate of Science degree.

My career in photography started with portrait photography, specializing in children, families, and pets. After a hiatus due to personal and family commitments, I am excited to return to my beloved profession. The natural world, once a mere backdrop for my portraits, now takes center stage in my new studio. Capturing and learning about the beauty right outside our doors has deepened my fascination with nature. My education continued with website development, embracing the idea that learning is a lifelong journey.

Artistic Statement:

For me, photography transcends being an art form; it's a powerful means to capture the world's essence as I perceive it. Each landscape reveals a harmony and beauty that astonishes me, from nature's vastness to the minute details of the smaller worlds within. My deep curiosity about humanity and our environmental impact drives me—a curiosity about the places we've created, modified, and sometimes damaged. My lens seeks to uncover the interconnectedness of life, prompting reflection on our role in the larger picture. My work is a celebration of life's diversity, capturing everything from the profound emotions in our eyes to the enigmatic charm of both familiar and foreign creatures. Whether it's the delicate relationship between a pet and its owner or the grandeur of wildlife in their habitat, each photo narrates resilience, connection, and marvel. In a tumultuous and uncertain world, photography is my sanctuary and source of meaning, a way to honor the complexity and beauty of life and share that awe with others.
